The Singing Our Futures program proudly announces the release of Torres Green’s new single ‘Loopin’ distributed via Bad Apples Music.
Emerging from Melbourne’s vibrant hip hop scene, Torres Green is an artist steadily carving out his own lane with sharp lyricism, powerful storytelling and a commanding stage presence. A proud Torres Strait Islander artist, he stands firmly in his identity, bringing culture, truth and lived experience to every verse.
Long before stepping behind the mic, Torres Green (Corey Saylor-Brunskill) built his confidence under the lights through theatre, performing on stages since the age of eight. Years spent honing his craft as a performer naturally evolved into songwriting, with nearly a decade spent developing the voice and perspective that now drives his music.
Known for his energy on stage and commitment to the culture, Torres Green has become an active presence within Melbourne’s hip hop community, performing at open mics, live showcases and battle events including the respected Break N Bread platform. His ability to move between the intensity of battle rap and the vulnerability of songwriting has shaped a style that is both authentic and deeply personal.
In 2025, Torres Green was selected for the Singing Our Futures program, the acclaimed First Nations artist development program created by the Archie Roach Foundation. Working alongsde mentor N’fa Jones, Torres Green further refined his craft and began bringing his songs to life in the studio. His forthcoming releases feature production from Melbourne beatmaker and bassist Anthony Liddell, with backing vocals by acclaimed First Nations artist and producer Candice Lorrae, creating a sound that balances hard-hitting bars with soulful textures.
With new music on the horizon and a growing reputation as both a performer and lyricist, Torres Green is part of an exciting new wave of First Nations hip hop artists emerging from Naarm/Melbourne.
Grounded in culture and driven by purpose, he continues to build a career that speaks not only to where he’s come from, but where he’s headed.
The Singing Our Futures program was established by the Archie Roach Foundation in collaboration with Culture is Life. It has evolved from the rich legacy left behind by Uncle Archie Roach, a legacy centered around the art of storytelling and truth-telling through music, as well as his dedication to nurturing and creating significant opportunities for emerging First Nations artists.
