Acclaimed multi-award-winning rapper, writer, lyricist, actor, author and mentor, Yorta-Yorta man, BRIGGSreleases his first solo music since 2021, ‘Ballad of The GOATs’ featuring Gomeroi artist, KOBIE DEE.
“Ballad of The GOATs” is an explosive rock’n’roll anthem for the Greatest Of All Time, a song to celebrate the achievements of the greats! “If the GOATs needed a song to enter the Pantheon of GOATs I would hope it would be this,” says Shepparton’s finest.
Produced by Robby De Sá (Polish Club, MAY-A, Gretta Ray) and co-written with David Novak (Polish Club), ‘Ballad of The GOATs’ was recorded at a recent song writing camp.
Briggs reveals, “I explained my vision for the track; a highlight reel of a song. I asked Kobie to trust the vision, think of it like we are creating the soundtrack for the highlight reel of life. The best bit was when we realised, we didn’t have to have any words for the chorus. Goats traditionally don’t speak.”
As footy fever grips the nation, ‘Ballad of The GOATs’ will be featured in a major sync for Paramount+’snew Mountain of Football campaign launching on Saturday September 28th during the Toyota AFL Grand Final. The campaign will run across TV, online and radio.
As one-half of hip-hop power duo A.B. Original, Briggs and Ngarrindjeri man, trials will perform as A.B. Original, returning to the stage throughout October as special guests on Public Enemy’s ‘On the Grid 35thAnniversary Tour’.
