A.B. ORIGINAL FEAT. DAN SULTAN
Today marks the world premiere of “January 26”, the second single from A.B. Original’s forthcoming album, “Reclaim Australia”. Airing on youth broadcaster triple j, Briggs and Trials say the song represents, “the annual frustration many Indigenous Australians feel from the farce of a holiday”. “January 26” also features vocals from Dan Sultan.
“Since 1788, the trials and tribulations that we have to overcome are often brought back to the surface on January 26th,” explains Briggs.
“I feel like Trials actually summarises it best in the track when he raps: ‘How you wanna raise a flag with a rifle to make us want to celebrate anything but survival’” he continues.
A.B. Original’s first single “2 Black 2 Strong” has already received critical acclaim, and was played to massive crowds and highly receptive audiences when they supported Hilltop Hoods on their National Symphony Orchestra Arena Tour in April.
“Reclaim Australia” will be released late in 2016 via Hilltop Hoods’ label Golden Era Records and Bad Apples.
